Retailers against Crime (RAC)

Stephanie joined Retailers Against Crime in 2011 and is now CEO, leading all RAC operations across the UK. She is passionate about improving retail worker safety, building strong partnerships with retailers, police, and community organisations, and changing perceptions of retail crime by highlighting its economic impact. Dedicated to promoting safer environments for members, she drives meaningful change across the sector.

A strong supporter of the Educating Youth Programme, Stephanie helps ensure young people are informed to make the right choices, fostering awareness and resilience in communities and future generations.

Lisa Maslen

National Business Crime Centre (NBCC)

Superintendent Lisa Maslen joined the City of London Police in May 2025 , taking over as lead for the National Business Crime Centre.  Previously Lisa was the Met Police Business Crime lead for the last 2.5 years where she worked across London raising issues that affect business, worked to prevent violence whilst developing and sharing best practice.  Lisa sits on the BCRP National Standards Accreditation Board.

Lisa started her career in Hampshire & IOW Constabulary in 2001 before transferring to the Met in 2009.  She has held a variety of roles including frontline, partnerships, Force Control Room Chief Inspector and Staff Officer to an Assistant Commissioner.

Graeme Mitchell

Academic

After qualifying as an Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP) in 1992, Graeme spent the next 15 years working for various Local Authorities across the North West of England. Whilst he was involved in all aspects of Environmental Health, his career had a very public health focus covering areas such as pest control, nuisance, emergency planning and animal welfare.

In 2007, he joined Liverpool John Moores University (LJUM) as the programme leader for their new BSc (Hons) Environmental Health (EH) programme. This programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is the first step on the journey for those who wish to gain professional registration as an EHP. The programme encompasses all the 5 key areas of EH: food safety, housing, health and safety, environmental protection and public health and he contributes to all these areas. In 2024 Graeme was appointed Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience for the Faculty of Health and in 2025 won the Outstanding Teacher award from John Moores Student Union.

His research interests have resulted in publications/presentations on a number of topics: food safety; food allergens, risk management; pest control, managing student exceptions and green funerals.  In addition, he has worked on publications with colleagues from across the world on areas such as AI and Environmental Health. Since the start of the Covid -19 pandemic he has been a regular guest on various BBC and local radio stations to discuss the Public Health impacts of Covid-19 and other Environmental/Public Health issues.

In addition to his teaching role at LJMU, Graeme has chaired panels to determine if programmes are suitable to be validated by LJMU, and is an External examiner for two other CIEH accredited universities in the UK. As a previously elected trustee of the CIEH, member of the International Federation of Environmental Health and International member of NEHA, he tries to keep abreast of developments in EH, on a global, national and local level.
